Mila (EN)

Description

Mila is a seamless, top-down knitted sweater. You start by working the top back and forth to add some depth to the neckline. Then, you continue in the round, building the shoulders and the upper part of the sleeves using a set of increases inspired by the contiguous method. The sleeves are then put on hold while you knit the body in-the-round, featuring a stylized floral motif that is also found at the bottom of the sleeves, which are also knitted in-the-round. Lovely decorative ribs adorn the bottom and sides of the sweater, as well as the cuffs. In the end, you pick up stitches around the neckline, and knit a double collar that gives structure to the sweater. Knitted in blown yarn, Mila is a sweater with dropped shoulders, slightly puffed sleeves, and a rather short and oversized fit. With its original colorwork pattern, it will be a unique piece in your wardrobe!

SKILLS LEVEL: Intermediate (previous experience in colorwork knitting is recommended)

SIZES:  XS-S (M-L-XL) 2XL corresponding to a final garment’s bust circumference of
93-105 (118-133-145) (158-170-181) 196 cm or 36.5-41.25 (46.5-52.25-57) (62.25-67-71.25) 77.25 in.
The garment is designed to be worn with an ease of 20 to 34cm (7.75 to 13.5 in).

GAUGE: Knitted flat with 5mm (8US) needles in stockinette stitch and measured after blocking:
21 sts x 30 rws = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4 in.

MATERIALS:
Note: The choice of main yarn is important for this project. I highly recommend using a blown yarn. Drops Air is an excellent alternative.
