CHIARA (EN)

Description

CHIARA is a summery t-shirt knitted from the bottom up, featuring a simple-to-memorize lace pattern that brings lightness and texture to the work. The body is worked in the round from the ribbing to the armholes. The back and front are then knitted separately back and forth, and the shoulders are joined using a three-needle bind off for a clean and structured finish. The finishing touches are made by picking up stitches around the openings: the neckline is highlighted by an Estonian braid, while the sleeves are finished with a delicate ruffle. With its subtle details and fluid silhouette, Chiara strikes a balance between softness and structure. A light and comfortable piece, ideal for warm days.

9 sizes: the chest circumference of the finished work is 77, 86.5 (96, 105.5, 115) (125, 134.5, 144) 153.5 cm or 30.25, 34 (37.75, 41.5, 45.25) (49.25, 53, 54.75) 60.5’’. You can choose your size based on the desired ease (5-10 cm or 2 to 4 »).

MATERIAL
Yarn: Tencel from Une Maille à la Fois in colorway 2845 blue / 4485 pink (fingering weight yarn 100gr = 400m = 437 yds)
Number of skeins needed per size: 2, 2 (2, 2, 2) (3, 3, 3) 4
Approximate meterage/yardage per size: 490, 560 (660, 730, 800) (900, 1030, 1120) 1230m or 540, 620 (725, 800, 875) (985, 1125, 1220) 1345 yds.

 Circular needles 3.5mm, 3mm and 2.5mm (80-100 cm cable) or 4US, 2.5US and 1.5US (32’’ – 40’’ cable)
1 additional 3.5mm (4US) needle (or the same size as those used for the body of the work) which will be used for the three-needle bind off.
Please note: the needle size is a suggestion. Use the needle size that allows you to obtain the correct gauge, knowing that I knit tightly.

 Notions: a beginning of row marker, plenty of markers to mark pattern repeats, stitch holders or scrap yarn to put stitches on hold, scissors, tapestry needle.

GAUGE
Knitted flat with 3.5mm (4US) needles in the « Pattes de Chat » stitch pattern  and measured after blocking: 25 stitches x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4’’
Please note: lace stitches tend to relax over large areas so I recommend making a fairly large swatch (20x20cm) or (8 x 8’’) so that the measurements are realistic.
