Description
DESCRIPTION
Poppy is a small, symmetrical triangular shawl designed to keep you warm without ever feeling bulky. Worked holding a fingering yarn and a mohair yarn together, it is constructed from the central tip upward, using a lovely mix of increases and German short rows that give it beautiful width and shape. For the final touch, I added an elegant overcast blanket-stitch edge that really makes it stand out.
Quick and enjoyable to knit, Poppy will soon become a wardrobe staple… and a pattern you’ll want to knit in every colour of the rainbow.

ONE SIZE
155 x 34 x 88 cm / 61 x 13.5 x 34.75 inches
MATERIALS
Yarns held together: Fingering + lace:
Fingering Lane by Penny Lane Yarns (100% superwash merino / 100 g = 400 m = 437 yds / colour: Chinese Wedding)
Required meterage (yardage) : 500 m (547 yds)
Suri & Silk Lane by Penny Lane Yarns (65% baby suri, 35% silk / 50 g = 400 m = 437 yds / colour: Chinese Wedding)
Required meterage (yardage): 500 m (547 yds)
Contrast fingering yarn for the blanket-stitch edge
For the contrast yarn, I recommend a non-superwash animal fibre so you can use the felted join method for an invisible join (no knots!).
Samskara by Treliz (60% superfine merino, 40% recycled yak & cashmere / 100 g = 400 m = 437 yds / colour: Samskara)
Required meterage (yardage): 15 m (16.5 yds)
Circular needles: 4 mm (100 cm cable) / 6US (40’’ cable)
Note: Needle size is indicative. Use the needle size that allows you to obtain the same gauge as mine.
Notions: 2 removable stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors.
GAUGE
Garter stitch, worked on 4 mm / 6 US needles, measured after blocking:
23 stitches x 44 rows = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4 inches
For a scarf, the gauge does not need to be exact, but it will influence the final size and yarn consumption.
